Photo album from RAF Museum London
Photo album from the Royal Air Force Museum London (aka RAF Museum) with photos of a variety of aircraft. While in hangar 1 you will find Blue Steel with a 1.1 Mt warhead and an F-35 fighter jet, there are more treasures in hangar 2. In Hangar 3 og 4 (historic hangars) stands the Supermarine Spitfire, famous from the Battle of Britain, and was the only British fighter aircraft to be produced continuously throughout World War II. In Hangar 5 (the bomber hall) stands the Avro Vulcan, which could carry 21 bombs, or 1.1 Mt nuclear bombs, and is famous from the Bond film Thunderball (1965) where the bomber is hijacked. In the same hangar stands the Avro Lancaster, which sank the German battleship Tirpitz on November 12, 1944, outside Tromsø. In True Lies (1994), Arnold Schwarzenegger piloted an AV-8B Harrier II Jump Jet, and the aircraft is also known from the Bond film The Living Daylights (1987). The plane hangs from the roof in hangar 6 (age of uncertainty), where you also can see the Eurofighter Typhoon, famous for winning the race against a Bugatti Veyron on Top Gear.
